SUMMARY:Salt Bowl Peanut Butter Drive begins--thru Sept 30
DESCRIPTION:The Benton School District is excited to continue one of our favorite Salt Bowl traditions with the return of the Annual Peanut Butter Drive, beginning Monday, August 24.The drive is held each year in conjunction with Salt Bowl activities and will continue through September 30 in recognition of Hunger Action Month. The friendly competition includes both Benton vs. Bryant and a district-wide contest among Benton schools.Families, employees, businesses, and community members are encouraged to donate jars of peanut butter to their favorite Benton School District campus throughout the drive. The Benton campus collecting the most peanut butter will earn this year’s Peanut Butter Trophy and district bragging rights!While the competition adds a little Salt Bowl fun, the purpose behind the drive is much bigger. All peanut butter collected directly benefits Benton students. Each campus may choose to keep its donations to meet the needs of students at that school or donate the peanut butter to Bright Futures Benton, which provides resources and support to students and families across the district.Peanut butter is a particularly valuable donation because it is shelf-stable, kid-friendly, and a good source of protein, making it a frequently requested item for families experiencing food insecurity.Donations will be accepted at Benton School District campuses from August 24 through September 30.Help us fill the shelves, support our students, and bring home the win!Fill the Shelves.
